You ain't getting it, Hud has plateaued. As Boomer likes to say the Peter Principle is involved, except his rise was outside of the organization to the level of incompetence.

Win, lose, or draw an impossible event in almost any case, Hud has peaked and will continue to go in a downward spiral. A McNeese loss would only hasten the downward spiral.

Why has he peaked? He was a motivator and had lots of talent in the cupboard. Over the years kids have seen though him, and we are not getting those type players anymore. His recruiting honeymoon is over and it's a grim future.

It is the most successful coaching record by far in the history of the school---Oh,and I have seen the "win too early" happenings in my time, but that is for the future to decide---again I would point to the players that were penciled in and got here and left, weren't what was described, or just didn't make it for whatever reasons including academic qualifications!!!

Some of you guys are unbelievable. You played fricking Boise St. Our first game was with a weak Div II team called Tarleton St. out of a town of 18,000 called Stephensville, TX.

The score of our game was very deceiving. There were a lot of warts hidden in the score. We played a very inconsistent game against a weak Div II team. They jumped out to a 3-0 lead and we didn't even tie the score until about 10 minutes left in the second quarter. We didn't go ahead until about the 5 minute left mark in the half. We couldn't hardly complete a pass in the first quarter. Our line gave up about 3 or 4 sacks to this Div II team. I think we finally wore them down in the 3rd quarter and our offense showed a few signs of life.

On defense, the stats looked pretty good but they didn't have much of a running game so we could pretty much ignore that. I think your backs and running game are a little better than Tarleton's. Plus, we have a patchwork secondary (which was young to start with) right now due to injuries and suspensions.

We still have a new coaching staff, Qb's trying to adapt to a new offense, and an offensive line that is thin in depth and still learning to play with each other.

You have more scholarships than us and therefore more depth of talent.

And your guys are probably pretty well ____ed off right now and I'm afraid we are going to catch the brunt of their anger. You shouldn't have too much trouble with us (this is not the 1970's anymore) and I just hope we can keep from getting blown out.

You negacajuns need to get out of here. COME ON!! Hud can beat an SLC team. Look what we did last year to NWST, and that was our worst season under Hud.

But I thought they were all just SLC teams? Don't we ____ on all of them? We are a mighty FBS team!! They are lowly FCS. There is no difference between McNeese, NWST, SLU, Nicholls, Southern, etc., right? That's what everyone always says. We should roll over them!!

Doc's right. There are way too many variables this year, with the inexperience of the offensive line, the new QB, new staff, holes in the secondary, etc., for us to put up much of a fight...

As to the Northwestern comparison....you guys beat them worse (44-17) than we did (47-27), but we beat them on the feet of Daniel Sams, who's no longer with us. So...I think you have to consider that the Cajuns have the advantage there...

Our D-II opponent last night was 3-9 or something like that last year....I don't think there's much point in comparing that to a game against Boise State.

And, most of the kids we have now were in elementary school the last time the two schools played...most of the McNeese staff who actually played back when the series was active have now moved on to coaching at Louisiana-Monroe...

I'm not sure this game has as much relevance to the current staff as it did to the former guys who grew up with it...

We're just hoping for a respectable showing...

I can't speak for others on this board...only myself. I've never said that. Mcneese might be the best team out of the ones you mentioned. Their defense is really good and we have reasons to be nervous

McNeese is never the most important game of the year, unless you consider them a rival. Maybe it is, maybe we should ask for reinstatement into the SLC.
