---Well my wife left town on a needed trip with her sister and her family and I have now 4 women (more of my wife's family) coming in for the McNeese game--all all McNeese Alumnae---they are all coaches and they thought that the game was a sell out but they were gonna get in on their coaches' passes---I hate situations like this where I have to be a gracious host---So Rick and Rick when they are at our tent be nice!!! lol

HN2 La. LSU certainly predated the La. Constitution of 1921, so McNeese's founding, as a division of LSU in 1939, was completely in compliance with the section you cited.

After that, a number of name changes were approved for the school and it eventually got its current name in 1970. Yes, there was a vote to split it off from LSU, but the entity existed so it wasn't a vote to create something that wasn't there.

Not a chance this game sells out. As a matter of fact, I don't see us hitting 30,000 but we'll see.

It's good that the game is at Cajun Field. The cute little "tinker toy" stadium in Lake Charles couldn't hold this crowd. What that place hold?

Just because it takes you a long time to phonetically READ the posts, it doesn't mean it took me any real length of time to make them.

As I understand it, the McNeese alums, who've done PBP and color commentary before, took the bull by the horns and suggested televising the game in Lake Charles to Raycom. I could be wrong, but they did the ground work and pitched it to the powers that be, who agreed. Televising it in Lafayette was an afterthought, on the coattails of the McNeese alums who pitched it.

The only slap in the face here is to Buford Jordan who helped lay the ground work, did promos and lent his name to getting this done.

Typical University of Louisiana response. No gumption to actually come up with ideas and do the scut work necessary to be successful, simply show up late, _____ and whine loud enough and throw a fit until somebody throws you a bone...

No wonder every other fan base in the state, aside from Southern, laughs at the vainglorious overreach inherent to the "University of Louisiana" movement.

You guys have tried everything else, and I do mean EVERYTHING else, why don't you try laying a proper foundation, doing the actual work necessary to excel and then letting the chips fall where they may, instead of trying to shortcut and name change your way to relevance?

Seeing what the attendance is will be interesting. The 33,828 for the 2007 game was the largest Cajun attendance of that season. But at that point I think there was probably a lot of optimism. The Cajuns had opened the season with a competitive loss at South Carolina then beaten Ohio at home. They got 22,186 for Ohio. After the McNeese loss the season went downhill and they never got more than 14,091.

This time they're coming off looking really overwhelmed against Boise State. Also I don't think there was any way to see the game other than being there in 2007. This one's televised and on ESPN3. If I had to bet I'd bet it still gets higher attendance than any home Sun Belt game at Cajun Field does. But we'll see.

Attendance was over 37k in 2007. We also lost to Ohio at home the week before.
