McNeese Week 2016

I'm concerned about this game. I know we like to talk about how we have set ourselves apart from McNeese. However, they beat us by 3 tds just a few years ago. I was there. They dominated us. It was not some fluke game. I looked at McNeese's recent schedules and see that they beat South Florida last year and Middle Tennessee the year before.

If Hudspeth leaves after this year or next, and I suspect he will, I'm worried we will fall back into putting a product on the field that isnt prepared for these teams.

McNeese went 11-0 that year.

And then lost to Eastern Washington 15-44 in their 12th and final game.

We were the only FBS team they played. They were the only FCS we played. They were not a better program than ours. We were not prepared for that game, that day. They were.

Desromeaux had 4 pics that day and I think 2 fumbles. You cannot turn the ball over 6 times and expect to beat anyone.

We went 3-9 that year. We had a bad team.

We had a rough season. We played South Carolina extremely well to open the season. We were leading in the next game against Ohio, and screwed up in the 4Q to lose it. Then came McNeese. After that game... I didn't feel Bustle could regroup the troops. Bustle was a nice guy. But, all you saw the rest of the season was this father-grandfatherly figure that loved to pat guys on the helmet and clap for them as they came off the field with their heads down.

We did not have a "bad team". We had a lousy program.

I'm not discounting their wins against us. In fact, I believe they have a lead in the all time series in football. Heck, I even congratulated some of their fans after the game in 07'. However, we all know how times have changed. Their claims of superiority are based on the past and stated simply for the sake of demeaning us. No rational perso would believe that MSU has a superior university or athletic program to UL.

Wait we playing MSU that's Mississippi st o wait maybe michigan st you mean there can be more than one school in this country with the same initials except Louisiana and Louisville for some reason???

I vaguely remember that. Most people look at the score and just think they were a better team. We had a very bad day. And admittedly, McNeese was on fire. Regardless of their record in the FCS and ours in the FBS... we had a better team. Two weeks earlier, we're giving Steve Spurrier's South Carolina team all they can handle. Once we got down after having led Ohio into the 4th quarter in game two... and then took the loss against McNeese... Bustle was not the kind of coach that cranked up a new fire in his football team. But he consoled players really well.

I'm not saying McNeese was a better team but we beat a 2-10 North Texas, a 5-7 MUTS, and 1-11 FIU....we weren't the worst, but we were bad that year.
