Please the Constitution was very simple and straight forward.



Naming rights were not Legislatively assigned to the Board of Regents UNTIL the case was on appeal in an effort to belatedly comply with the Constitution.

Again...the average NO Bowl attendance is somewhere around 30,000. It spiked when you finally made it to a bowl game...then spiked at 54K when Tulane made it. It went back down to a little over 30K the last time you were there, when Tulane wasn't in it.

You better look at those numbers again, Junior. 42K, 48K, and 54K. Those are strong numbers. The dif between Tulane and E Carolina is negligible. N.O. burn out on #4, plus our admin sold us out. We had a shot at the The Indy, but Farmer and TJoe covered it up and we were stuck once again. Anyway, it will still take you bet. 5-7 home playoff games to equal what we bring to a bowl game. Im out big Jay! Have a safe trip into town.

you should be more worried about being THE University of Lake Charles....99.9% of your students root for another school in the state over the one they go to.

Why didnt you guys pursue the forfeit last year against your flagship? Would you say you were treated well by them?

Remember that one time that the McNeese Pokers came to Lafayette for a basketball game and forgot their uniforms. They had to wear UL practices jerseys that had UL and Ragin Cajuns on them.

That was funny. Even my kid's middle school team has better game day prep than that!

Hopefully this ends this exhaustingly boring thread.

Yeah, if we are such a joke, then why do they have such envy of all that we are? From a recent post on their site:

"ULL won their fbs bowl game . UL participated in the NCAA basketball tournament. UL softball is in the World Series of softball after hosting a regional and super regional. UL baseball is ranked no1 in country and hosting a regional this weekend. Let me tell you this I hate UL even more than lsu and I don't like lsu. What I want to know is why couldn't this type of success happen at McNeese??? Is it because we don't play in the fbs in football therefore we are not in a big enough conference to acquire enough money to succeed. I do believe that if we played ULL in conference like we used to, neither one of our stadiums is big enough to handle the amount of fans that would want to go. Is it because their are too many lsu fans in lake Charles and no matter what McNeese does lake Charles will not support it ??? Very possible because the media both print and television love them some lsu, you would think we are living in Baton Rouge because of the extensive coverage. Why the people in lake Charles are so proud of a college and team 3 hrs away instead of their own college I will never understand. UL seems to have found success, so maybe they are a model that we should follow to see more college and city pride here. Who knows it may lead to more economic success, can you imagine lake Charles hosting a softball or baseball regional???? Why not us????"

I'm not sure I follow. McNeese is in the University of Louisiana System. There is no flagship in the ULS system...

I should qualify, since 1984 (when a new law was passed in the middle of the BoR appeal) the Board of Regents has been vested with the right to name Educational Institutions subject to Legislative approval.

The Board of Regents has broader but weaker naming privileges than they did in the beginning of 1984.
