If the answer is no, then I don't understand your complaint.

The La. Legislature approved a new institution of higher learning in an area where there was a need bona fide need.

Seems straightforward enough...

1965 UL saw a need in Acadiana.

They were shut down.

1966 A mere 16 years after getting McNeese and ULM off their back, LSU addressed that need in Acadiana.

I get it, TWO Universities in every garage was a big need.

If your argument held an ounce of logic there would be no dorms in Eunice.

Logic forbids ever letting UL meet its growth needs.

UL begged for expansion dorms and classrooms in the mid 1930's. Solution: New School in Lake Charles.

Bursting at the seams after WWII, UL begged for expansion dorms and classrooms, using GI funding. Solution: New School in Thibodeaux.

Bursting at the seams in the 1960's UL begged for expansion dorms and classrooms using their own land. Solution: New School in Eunice.

Still not enough New school in Alexandria.

Two schools in every garage.

I only bring up the marketing area assigned to UL in 1898.
