11am Kickoff

Now that it has come and gone, how did that 11am kickoff treat everyone?

Well it would seem to have affected the attendance for sure. Lucky for me the beer was cold!

Was terrible. My group showed up at 6:20 as noted within that gate opened at 6am per tailgate rules. Cops told us that UL informed them gates wouldn't open until 6:30. Tried another gate and the cop said gates weren't suppose to open until 7am. Shouldn't be surprised about a ____ poor operation. We spent 30 minutes driving around waiting for them to open the gates.

I love an 11 am kick off....when it involves watching teams from up north playing on TV. It's a great start to a full slate of college football that builds up to Louisiana's 6 pm kick off.

In all seriousness, it's a freaking safety issue. Throw the TV exposure out of the window and do what's best for you players and fans.

I'm not gonna sit here and say the time of the game was the cause of our horrible loss. Because it wasn't. We sucked today. Everything sucked except for our punter. But this game should have never been played at 11 o'clock. But I do know we lost quite a few thousand fans and tailgaters to th start time. If this game was played at 7 or even 8 o'clock, Cajun field is packed and rockin.

How much money did we actually make from TV by sacrificing all of our fans to risk heat stroke? How much did we lose in ticket sales and concessions by not playing a night game? I can't believe that we didn't learn our lesson a few years ago!!

Either you guys don't listen or you don't understand! We have no choice in the time of the game other than 11:30am or 2:30pm because the SBC bundled our television rights. That's it, end of story. The only fix to this problem is getting out of this conference. Today's performance on the field doesn't exactly help in that area, regardless of Farmer's faults.

I always respect your opinions; but this was a safety risk for the fans and the players. If we just stand up like responsible people and say NO, we are not going to put people at risk! So pick another game for your TV deal; the safety of our people is more important. Nothing is set in stone, this could have been negotiated out of. I've been in business long enough to know this.
