THIS!!!!
We get sunshine pumped up our collective asses how many stars this kid and that one is...big production on national signing day, 6 weeks of camp rah-rah. Only to drop a floater in the punch bowl on the field.
This is the biggest failure we have. Inability to judge talent.
Felt bad for Jennings. Dude was pummeled, & not his doing.....OL was completely overmatched.
Where we were on offense it looked like we played with 9 players and Boise played with 14. When we were on defense it looked like we had 9 players and they had 14. It also looked like they had our playbook.
Whats disturbing is that I'm seeing scores pouring in. Southern Miss beating UK, frickin South Dakota State going toe to toe with TCU, plus UH, South Al, etc.
I am just disheartened that we couldnt also be competitive on that level.
Im with you. The loss hurt, but it hurt more to see teams I thought we were better than beat or hang with teams way better than Boise. Play like we did today and we won't win a game this season. I second the motion, MOST overpaid coach in the country. I think if Hud would have gone on the field and took a on the 50 yard it would have looked better than what I saw today.
We won't be competitive at that level until our players are coached up to play at that level. From what I saw and heard today this team was not prepared to be competitive with Boise State. The offensive and defensive game planning by our coaches is severely lacking. This staff better wake up or it's going to be a long season.
Hud must have really practiced that false start play. He called it often and the team executed it perfectly.
But how? They didn't have film on our offense? Right? Or was our offense a worse version of what Hud tried to run last year? You don't need a playbook to decimate a garbage soft zone defense with 3 down lineman who generate zero pass rush. We didn't have less players, though it seems like our coaches were trying to get out of an Escape Room, rather than coach a football game.
