Thread: UL's Jennings: 'I'm focused on this team'

  1. UL Football UL's Jennings: 'I'm focused on this team'

In a sense, Jennings felt like a freshman when he arrived at Louisiana.

But he hastened to add he also felt like a senior, "because I've been through certain things in another program."

That would be LSU, whose name Jennings seemed to intentionally avoid saying during his first few days at UL.

Upon arrival at UL, he also tried to make it clear LSU in his rearview mirror.

Good for Jennings, I like his focus.

Because the media can't quit looking in the rear view mirror.

Whatever path has lead him here is not a concern. He is a Ragin Cajun now and the Cajun Nation is behind him. Lets do this. GEAUX CAJUNS

Yup. Jennings is our QB and our success depends on him. Whether we go 4-8 or 8-4 starts with the QB. I have faith he will use his talent to further our program this season. Experience is the key.

If he is as successful as our last LSU transfer (Venessa Soto) then we will be in pretty good shape.

I said it when it first became news... Jennings is a very good QB and athlete... and our offense is better suited to his range of skills. I try to temper my excitement for these kinds of situations... but he's a game changer for us... if we run intelligent plays. Our talented, but inexperienced, WR group... along with Jennings and McGuire and even some of the new RBs.. are some formidable skill people. Smart plays and play sequencing... this could get fun in a hurry.

I am pretty sure Trey Grainer came after Venessa.

At the very least, Jennings is going to be a guy sunbelt defenses have to game plan around bc of what he can do running the ball. I've seen games where he couldn't hit a receiver, I've seen games where he slung it like an sec QB, but the one thing he's always done well is create plays with his legs. He's gonna be tough to contain. I'm ready to get this party started!

I'm with you on that. I think it's crucial to have our first couple of drives against BSU cover some turf and put us in striking distance... if not put up some points. We need to get a bit of home swagger cooking on both sides of the ball early. Jennings isn't going to be intimidated by BSU. Man I hope our coaches are geared up to take this game. You have to have a killer instinct to take out teams like BSU. Going through the motions, and simply trading punches, just won't cut it.
