Artificial turf that eliminate snap and hold... and especically setting the plant leg on dry turf... HUGE difference over the years for place kickers.
That is a very good point.

However over half of all NFL stadiums are still on natural grass and yet kicking percentages have reached new heights there as well.

Only basketball has plateaued or decreased.

What has changed? Larger arenas, smaller practice facilities.

"Home" matters at different points in ones life. The key is to use the home court advantage when it affords the opportunity.

Marlin did that with Shawn. Right place, right time, right action.

UL needs to do whatever it can to do the same when it comes to practicing in the Cajun Dome.

Because the lower levels have kickers that are just kickers...when I was in high school our starting fullback was our kicker and he would just toe the ___ out of it. You have more foreigners now kicking in American football, more converted soccer players. More points being scored which is more extra points, better offense's getting closer for shorter field goal attempts.

    IMO -

AAU has completely killed High School and College basketball. No if's, and's, or but's about it. It's TERRIBLE street ball with a "look at me" mentality.

This is absolutely the problem. Most of the AAU world is sleazy. Check out the book "Play their hearts out." My boys played AAU ball and had a pretty positive experience but we saw some of the bad side as well.
When ESPN starts showing good ball reversal, rebounding and help defense as Top 10 plays, basketball will start to improve.
Ill ask again, which programs should UL try to emulate? Who is doing what you think we should be doing?

The winning ones, the ones who are competing for a championship every year...not competing for the 4 seed in the tournament.

Who is that? Are there programs not named KEntucky, UNC, Louisville, etc that compete for a title every year? Who, on our level, consistently goes to the Dance?
I can think of New Mexico state but not many others.
