Shown could have gone to Nichols State if he wanted to be with his kid, it is closer to Morgan City. He could have gone to any school in south Louisiana, for that matter, and been with his kid. He chose UL. I'm sure Marlin had something to do with that, especially since we recruited him before he went to Miss State.
Ok let's find a constant then. Free throw line shooting.
NBA average FTSP has been consistently in the mid 70's since the 1950's
No improvement in 50 years.
This coincides with the NBA leading the charge on cookie cutter practice boxes and moving to a wide open arena on game day.
The point is that as a transfer, he did it more to be back in south Louisiana more than anything else. And being at UL over any other option in south Louisiana is a pretty easy decision... with Marlin as the coach or anyone else.
Getting back to the poor shooting "due to the Cajundome versus where they practice"... it's bogus. Pure nonsense. I've gone to the games and other programs far less used to the Cajundome have lit it up from the outside against the Cajuns. It was purely poor perimeter shooting from the Cajuns. We've had outside shooters in the Cajundome knock the bottom out of the net off their own dribble... creating their own shot. Marlin's outside shooters were getting wide open looks and clanking iron. The Cajundome depth perception is nonsense on a variety of levels.
