Nope, almost every NBA team practices in place like our facility and they play in huge arenas...doesnt bother them. We would shoot fine away from our facility if we had good shooters...we don't and our coach insist on trying to fit a square peg in a round hole consistently running an offense that is designed to find a wide open man to bury the shot...which is great if your team buries wide open shots but we don't.

Show me another example anywhere where they sawed short the regulation court making the rim closer to the wall.

Turbine if their was any reasoning behind this you think NBA teams would risk millions of dollars and championships by having their teams practice in gyms that effect their ability to shoot? Why when we do get to practice in the dome we don't see a huge spike in FG%? Why when we are on long road trips, and don't have to practice in this "jinxed" facility, we don't see our FG% spike? Why does Georgia state practice and play in an arena with a wall next to the goal they go everywhere and can shoot? Why when we practiced in Bourgois people like tryus wade could still shoot the lights out? How much ball did you play? I've played and practiced on every surface and very size arena and the guys on my team that could shoot knocked them down no matter where we played. Carpet, wood, concrete, walls along the baseline, Alamo dome, Cajun dome, tennis court with chain nets....shooters can shoot. To top it off if all the players hear is the coach whining about it, what do
You think their mindset is? If all they hear is their coach talking about how impossible it is to win on the road, you think they come out that road lockeroom confident? If the leader makes excuses his pupils will allow those excuses as well.

The "reasoning behind" sawing off the end of the court was because they accidently built the PF shorter than a regulation basketball court and it would not fit inside.

I don't care if it was designed that way it's a lame excuse. Are you trying to tell me we will never have another basketball team that can shoot as long as we are in that facility? They didn't practice on a regulation court in Bourgois.

It wasn't designed that way on purpose, it was an accident.

Now, what can UL do to fix the well documented problem of visual perception?

Answer: Install black seats in the Dome and paint the PF walls behind the rim flat black.

I said I didn't care if it was designed that way...I know it wasn't. what can they do now? Stop making it an issue and using at as an excuse for starters and recruit better athletes who can shoot would be second and maybe have a backup auxiliary offense to be able to score the basketball on nights your team can't hit the side of a barn instead of going 1-18 behind the arc and just pray they start falling. We no longer have a 6'10 guy giving us 20 and 10 off of our missed shots either.

We have not lost more than three home games in each of the last three years so we must shoot it ok at home. Road percentages are much worse. I agree we just have not had enough good shooters in recent years. This coming season will have lots of new guys on the perimeter so we have to wait and see if any of those guys are capable of consistently knocking downn open looks. Having Bartley handle the ball more will help as Wright will get more open shots. Staff feels they will be better defensively which will help offense. Main area Shawn will be missed is on glass.

That we agree on, our shooting woes and overall record have nothing to do with our practice facility. I hope we have guys that can knock them down because we won't be nearly as physical without Shawn.

I have been told the Miller guy from Kentucky is likely to be the fifth starter. He has a body similar to Bryce Washington. Therefore we may be more physical than is first apparent. He has a year of prep school. Therefore he is a little more mature than most freshman.
