Ragin4U nailed it, somehow, highly rated players want to transfer in to the program and its (turned into) a negative.
Georgia state plays in an arena that looks like our practice facility...they shoot just find away from there. Bourgois hall was the same and we had teams that could shoot. It's an excuse. Marlin has complained publicly and privateky that not getting to practice in the dome hurts their shooting.

The only negative I see in this is it almost looks like they have lowered expectations for this season. Over the summer there was the unfortunate passing of Herman Williams and then Curtiss Anderson didn't qualify, both guys who were expected to be contributors this year. They have been replaced by 2 guys who will sit as transfers. Lots of freshman will get minutes this year and will be right back to the bench next year when the 3 transfers are eligible.

How is that reaching if it is obvious? Are you speaking Turbine?

The long view? Look at Marlin's tenure here as the long view and tell me what you see. Near .500 winning percentage, constant flux of players both in and out and no conference championships. Yes, we went to the big dance but if we are talking about building a program, it takes a lot more than that to do it which is why you've heard many of us here state our very strong feelings on this subject.

Who said it was a negative? I think this great feat is only being met with guarded optimism by some of us who've come to see what Marlin's program has been thus far and are wary of things to come.

I can speak from experience that the dome has horrible depth perception and definitely takes getting used to but a collegiate player should adapt as that type of arena seating is the norm now.

It does but do does most arenas from high school to college and we certainly play/practice in the cajundome more than anyone else. Gary broadhead chooses to play in the dome and he has another option.

Didn't bother Grider, Mike Allen, and many others including opposition. It's an excuse.

We shoot poorly because we can't shoot...nothing else. You either can shoot or you can't. Driveway, tennis court, gym, arena, 8 foot 10 foot 11 foot...don't matter where or on what if you can shoot.

---Maybe Jay Walker's best statement---or well something like this---Good shooters are good FT shooters----well good shooters in the Dome are good shooters!!!
