We want Hud to get a promotion out of Lafayette, right? That means we're on a steady uptick as a program and we can hopefully backfill with another up and coming, hungry coach who sees potential in a football recruiting hot bed.
Take a step back...and realize Hud's only offer since "putting us on the map"...has been from Tulane. That mentality is in Hud's mind, but let's be honest a 6-6 year which is probably the ceiling this year with the problems we have, isn't going to get him an SEC job. That coupled with a 4-8 season where his weaknesses were on full display, and 4 9-4 season where we still struggled mightily to beat anyone outside of the Sun Belt. I think that tells you where we are as a program on the ____ing rise.

I can agree with this. When I hear us being talked about on national radio or tv stations they speak about us much differently then they did before Hud got here. Just the other day on satellite radio they were running through Georgia's schedule and when it came to our game the hosts said very good things about our program. Perception wise we have changed. I guess everyone may have a different definition of what being "put on the map means" though.

Disagree with this. A few more seasons like last year, then I would say you are on to something.

Don't know until he steps on the field. It's not like beat writers and coaches have always been right...RIGHT?

How quickly you forget that you were part of that number cheering your a55 off at 4 bowl games. Beating the likes of SDSU, Nevada, Tulane, and East Carolina (not examples of SuckBelch with the exception of Tulane). If we would've had another 9 win season and a bowl win Hud would've gotten a call from someone. I'm sure a few calls haven't gone public because it was probably viewed as being a semi-lateral move...?

Don't confuse the massive failures of our administration with what Broadway and Hud accomplished for our football program.

We are still in the Sun Belt, they still get our name wrong, recruits still choose to go elsewhere. This drastic shift is vermilion colored glasses. That coupled with our administration...and we have taken one step forward and two steps back. It's reality. We are still as forgotten as we where in 2010.

I 100% agree...but it still accomplished very little on a national scale.

    Your question to Scotto.

La Tech is no better off because of their band aids. Their project QB just got popped for drunk driving, and is still undeveloped because transfers took his reps for two straight years. They don't have a gem at QB to take over. How are you supposed to recruit QB's, when all you do is hand reps to 5th year grad transfers? It's a Catch 22 scenario.

    What transfer is that?

Hawk where did you ask the question in reference to the fast track of the P5 or putting us on the map of the P5? If you were talking about impact in that context, then say it. I answered your question in regards to how Broadway helped put us on the map of relevance, with 3 bowl wins. Anytime your football program is mentioned in the national media for winning a bowl game, at least on that day it made your program somewhat relevant in terms of recognition. He won 3 bowl games in a row, which is a significant accomplishment at this program.

We aren't the laughing stock of football anymore due to 2011-2014 seasons....take it or leave it. The majority of that was due to a Transfer QB. We were picked to go winless in multiple magazines for years. We were always stuck in the bottom 10 with the FIU's, FAU's, ULM, etc. year after year. We get more respect these days and Hud's name is well known in college football.

I hope our new transfer puts up a solid year and gets us back to where we were during our prominent 4 year run.

Address next year when it comes. If we don't solidify a QB, start making friend with Juco's again until "the recruit" falls in our lap due to eligibility problems, hardships, etc.....because that's the only way to get "that" 3-4 year starter (We are still SunBelch - this does not help)

Exactly! Where did the discussion of the P5 come into play concerning the topic? Clearly I missed the post.

I was, and it was magical. To...us. To the outside world...no one gave...pardon my French...a flying ____. Then when we repeated it 3 more times...they were still less impressed. I'll tell you why...we lacked progression. We never took it to the next level. We slammed head long into our ceiling, and then we crashed and burned in 2015. This is what separates us from the "fast riser" programs. They built on what they accomplished, we didn't. Now as someone mentioned, the football team isn't 100% at fault for that because of the administration...and I 100% agree with that. But...the football team does deserve some of the blame. Recruiting had it's problems. Coaching had it's problems. I'm sure someone will call Hud's name eventually...and on the current course of the team and our administration...I fear it will be as an assistant at a P5 school.
