I'm thinking we lose this one pretty handily but will get better as the season progresses.
They competed pretty well against Kentucky last year.

Mostly, you're right. But unless a year removed has destroyed my memory, both offensive and defensive lines for the Cajuns look MUCH better at this point (which is early, I know). Our size and athleticism on OL especially stands out.

Again, I know it's early.. But Jennings is head and shoulders more polished than JD. Footwork, fluidity, natural with the football in his hands. I was certainly impressed.

You're starting to make me believe, MAT. I'm trying to use history as my guide... but you're starting to make me believe... we're going to crush Boise State! Geaux Cajuns!

Well, I'm not sorry for picking you up and taking you to practice. But yes, I see some things that hold promise and I'm going to wait until I see the scrimmages before I get excited.

I've been pretty optimistic about the young talent we have on the offensive line and I think this is the year that they show up and make a difference. If you are right about AJ, that is fantastic as that is the single most important position on the field and we will need solid QB play to have a good season. I think we could win the game, but it's gonna be a tough battle as they will be a talented club.

Or if the offense can sustain a single drive to keep said defense off the field a little bit.....Defense showed their talent at times and if we can get our schemes straight, they may be shining light in this game.

Defense was every bit as inept as the offense last year. This is a new year with new assets and liabilities but we need to quit pretending it was all on the offense last year. Remember it starts with defense.
