This is what I was referring to when J1M mentioned "alternating series". I believe alternating series is a horrible idea and a team should always stick with whoever has the hot hand.
Regarding subbing in for a play or two: The problem with subbing in a 2nd QB for a "change of pace" is usually one QB is good passer and the other QB is a better runner. The defense will most often adjust depending on which QB is in the game.
..."but what if your running QB can also make great throws?" Then he should probably be the starter.
Florida did win with Leak & Tebow, but that was two very talented college QBs. Most every G5 team does not have that type of talent, very few P5 team even have that type of talent... but I agree that it can work under the right circumstances.
I don't necessarily agree with this statement. It's not that easy. You can put your "running" QB in and fool defenses with play action and occasional great throws. Doesn't mean he is as consistent or accurate as your starting QB who is more of a pure passer. Also, does not mean he has what it takes to lead your team. Being a starting QB is much more than just being able to throw a a good ball.
I remember that team, and Tebow was more like a token when he came in. Leak ran the show from what I remember. If we have a 2 QB system like that, it shouldn't be with Jordan Davis, it should be with Dion Ray, since he is far and away the better athlete.
Side note: The jump pass versus LSU. Thing of beauty. I remember openly laughing in my dads face after that one.

If we put in Nixon on goal line situations, and he throws the ball, I am going to curse, loudly.
This was the problem we had when we started using Blaine G in the wildcat. We never let him throw so everybody knew we had a whole 3 plays designed for him, all runs and it was never really effective. Nixon would still need to have passing plays in short yardage situations in order to maximize his usefulness.
