Just look at the NFL where you maybe have two true lockdown corners these days. It's not that the talent at corner has gotten worse. But rather, the rules have been geared more and more to aid the offenses because "all football fans want to see more passing and more points".

I think it's BS what has been done, but the rules are now much more heavily enforced against the DBs. You're barely allowed to breathe on the receiver as you try to run downfield with him.

Being a corner on an island is almost impossible these days.
Football being less physical to help offenses is not why our defense sucks. Stop making excuses.

Yep. Your reading comprehension does suck, because I didn't blame the rules on why our defense sucks.

But hey, continue with your message board badass persona. I just join others in laughing at your ridiculousness.

Revis,Norman,Sherman... Put them on teams with no pass rush and see if they are still the best in the league.

Yep. And keep in mind Norman was in more of a zone scheme than strict island man at Carolina.

FWIW - Norman has been getting burnt by Jackson and Garcon the past few days. Was it a product of the system? We shall see.....

Redskins front 7 couldn't carry Carolina's front 7 pads at practice...Norman will not be what he was in Carolina but good for him he got paid.

He did play a lot of zone in Carolina, but the DC does a lot of blitzing in front of his zone. They have a very good defensive front 7 and get good pressure on opposing QB's.

Yep, and pressure on the QB will be the primary factor in whether any secondary scheme we run works.

I just think our coaches understand that we don't have the talent at DB to run unassisted man coverage all game long. I'm sure there will be some man assignments, such as short yardage situations, especially inside our own 10 yard line.

I think they are billing this secondary as our best since Bill and Melvin..
