Unfortunately, don't think I'm buying what you're selling today.
    What are you talking about?

We have donors who would foot the bill/access to private jets if our president and AD needed is what I took that as.

You mean he did the assistant btch work that David made him do on all the candidates that were in the running..

His opinion, thoughts, expertise were not sought or considered in the hiring of our football coach..

Btw, Farmer didn't hire Mark Hudspeth, if you didn't know that.

    I'll answer you question with a question/comment:

If a group of select donors fly to Dallas, pick up AAC brass, take them here to see and experience what we have to offer, lock down some relationships, etc; Then, do the same with university presidents for AAC schools, sell the program, show them the plan (that we don't have), and get on good footing with those men.... And the time comes, and Savoie gets the call for the invite and Savoir accepts (because it's the President that decides)...

What role, out of the ordinary, did SF play? If Jim Harris uses his connections, what role did SF play? Some of you think that all progress is accomplished the same way. Just because Farmer has a name plate and a title, doesn't mean ____.

And before you say "Oh donors would not do that"... It happens all the time. In fact, I know for a fact, out of their own mouths, we have guys ready and willing to do just what I suggested.. This is how things get done.
I have two words for you.

You need a search firm? I'll get you a search firm....what are you searching for? "I'll do the legwork" and have you a search firm before 4pm this afternoon.

    I would believe that.

But I read it as donors do all the leg work without university officials.. No way an offer is extended without university officials being involved in the sales pitch.

All you need is he president at the end, and boosters with money to get the ball rolling.. Farmer can smile and nod along the way.

They would certainly have to be involved before an offer was extended but by then the donors have done all the leg work. Terry Bradshaw and Karl Malone were very involved with latech getting into CUSA. If we only had a famous alumni working for fox sports.....
