I have no doubt the unnecessary stress he experienced at UL took a toll on his longevity.

I sure wish Authment could have found $10,000 so Lancon could have had the indoor track he deserved.

pps In the Pentathlam, UL also finished 3rd in the Country under Nelson Schexnayder. He still stepped down.
these items sound contradictory to those who said academic success is not an accomplishment of the AD.

I think he was equally dismissive of other 'minor' sports coaches.

Turbine, you don't know half the story. Authemont had the money in hand for the new track for years before actually building it; then he downscaled it to a mid level Texas High School facility instead of the copy of UT's competition venue it was supposed to be.

As to the indoor facility; It would have taken about $500,000 extra to set it up as the best Indoor Track facility from Fayetteville to the Gulf and Houston to Baton Rouge. It would have paid for the extra money out of self-generated revenues.

That $10,000 track was a separate thing altogether. We had no suitable venue to put it in at the time except for the Dome, and that would not have been feasible for several reasons.

If farmer is credited/responsible for on field success then he should be fired along with the first coach that he hired is fired for failing on the field. If we go 12-0 this year it will have zero to do with Scott farmer...if we go 0-12 it will have zero to do with Scott farner. If every team wins a title next year it will have zero to do with Scott farmer...if we have the worst collective athletic year in history it will have zero to do with Scott farmer. Not every Athletic Director position at every school is created equally. The things we need most from Scott Farmer he is very bad at.

Most of the successes here were built in (Robe and Lotief being local guys) and he still managed to ____ that up. He gets an F- on virtually all of those things.
By that logic, if Farmer hired Jerry Baldwin 2.0 in lieu of Hud, he would/should receive equally proportionate lack of blame from you and the Pagin pitchfork posse, since he deserves no credit for the resulting and heretofore success.
    Silly.

I'll ask you the same hypothetical, if we find ourselves in the AAC in 3 years, would you still want Farmer out?

Of course it was built for a Cajun Dome install/teardown.

The only issue was cold storage.

The eventual owners used two gutted trailers.

I guarantee you UL would have had no problem finding a trailer donor or Houser of this half million dollar equipment.

    Farmer didn't hire Hud.

If we find ourselves in the AAC, we cannot afford to have Farmer as our AD.

If we find ourselves in the AAC does that make him not a liar? Does that give him integrity? If we get in the AAC it won't be because of him...it will be in spite of him.

    Who hired Hud?
