Why did it take them so long to announce this?
I thought you played for trophies not media headlines
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Sun Belt regular and tournament championship trophies, regional champions, and lost to the National Champions in the Super Regionals.
Nope, didn't win the NC, but neither dish 350+ other universities. We did have a decently respectable year though.
More than decently respectfully. I think the timing is appropriate long after the WCWS is the time to reflect on the good and bad of the past season. We simply needed much better pitching to contend for the title. That's not to say our pitching was poor, only not nearly up to the elite. Our defense was a little subpar for UL, but still outstanding. We got those batting numbers with the best hitter in softball out for many, many games.
I don't think the term I would ever use for Ragin' Cajun softball would be settling. I would venture in the era of have's/have not's this program would be it's the most successful non-P5 team in NCAA softball history and would be envied by more than half of the P5 teams.
