LOL. I voted 7-5 and that is an optimistic wild azz guess. But I don't really know what dose of optimism or pessimism to apply. In some years, you kind of have a feel for our program versus the schedule. Even in the years we have the clearest understanding of who we are, I still say you have a 4 game swing you just cannot predict. Right now, we have a much wider uncertainty window. I seriously don't think anyone can even guess at what will happen this coming season.

Agree. I have no idea. I can see Hud rallying the troops and ending up with 7-8 wins (as long as we figured out QB position). I can also see us struggling and winning 4-5 games. Just have no strong conviction either way.

You can't win most of your games without a quaterback, we don't have an SEC defense. Don't see how we do better than .500

I have seen only sparse flashes of defense in the last few years. Last year we couldn't stop anyone. Most of the games we have won was because we outscored them. This team needs to learn what 3 and out means. You win with defense. Until the Cajuns start shutting some offenses down, we will be mediocre.

Way Easier said than done... G5's are built to move the ball... The rules of the game are way in favor of the offense. There aren't many shut down defense in college much less the sunbelt. We don't need to be great on defense, just good and in years where our defense is "good" we will most likely be more opportunistic than good...get lots of turnovers go our way.

    No game is a "gimmie"

But Tulane only has 13 starters back.

    5 on offense
    8 on defense

All new scheme for this team and we catch them relatively early so kinks may not be worked out for the option.

I still think we beat them as it looks like a rebuilding year for Fritz and it really may take a year to get the offense running on all cylinders.

They sure slapped us around the last time we played.

We haven't done very well against app state either or Georgia state for that matter. Because of our close proximity mcneese coaches will always have the "they thought you weren't good enough to play for them" card to play when playing us... Really no better motivation than that.

I'm not making excuses, I agree we better win but if anyone thinks we will blow them off the field simply because they are in a "lower division" is mistaken. They will always bring it when playing us was my point and Guidry is familiar with the rivalry and he also is familiar with HUD, familiar with Mike lucas as well.. And has been at mcneese for a couple years so it's not like it will be totally new to the players.

We haven't lost to Georgia State yet, App. State is another matter. Bottom line, App. State and Georgia Southern have passed us in a few short years in wins and budget.

We haven't lost but it took everything we had to beat them... A team that didn't have an FBS win...we didn't blow them off the field.
