none of our coaches have ever been lied to by the AD either
At the end he was apologetic towards the fans making me think that he knows way more that what he his trying to tell us. Digging up and locating electrical and water lines. Visiting the trailer and talking to the contractor. A little fly on the wall of that trailer knows more than what we know. If that stadium comes down in the next two week and they have the makings of a new one on site, just maybe it might be finish by the 4th or 5th week after the 2017 season starts...
You are correct, it was clear he doesn't have the answers yet, but they are still having meetings once a week. He is confident it will get done, but he didn't sound too confident it will get done before the season begins or the timeline afterwards. But at least Coach Robichaux was willing to come on record, which is what I expected from him.
I applaud the fact that he commented on the project. Even though he doesn't know and won't speculate it's refreshing for someone to do the right thing.
Now it's time to hear from our president, get the resignation from our ad, and what news outlets to step up and report something. If need be I could pen an article for them with enough facts to require answers. No need to report rumors, there are plenty facts.
When I asked about the timeline or if he still felt the project would be completed by the beginning of the season, he said they were prepared to work around it. At the end of the interview Coach Rob got a little emotional when he stated he wasn't just working with the contractor in those weekly meetings, but fighting for his supporters and season ticket holders to make sure this project is done right. I've done a number of interviews with Coach Robichaux, a few have been emotional at times like Coach Lotief. I have a good feel when he is getting a little emotional. While there is nothing earth shattering in what he stated, I'm extremely grateful to have a coach of his character and integrity put himself out there on the record while his superiors are not even willing to speak the local media. I'm certain they won't be happy he did the interview, but I felt it was necessary to let him say what he wanted on the subject and speak to his supporters.
Thanks. And thanks for the link; I just listened to it. I know I will get blasted for saying this, but it sounds like things are progressing....not as fast as we hoped or needed, but the delays all sound like typical construction issues. I did not detect any concern about the project not getting funded, or delayed due to that issue, or because of the lack of the NTP, etc. Like others have said, maybe he wouldn't have....but i just have doubts about that....he is too honest a person. He could've dodged it pretty good if he wanted to and not given as much details as did. Just my opinion.
Not that there arent questions to be answered by SF and the admin. A lot of questions.
