I have been told that if Farmer comes out and either takes credit for "fixing" the problems or completely ignores it, certain folks will go on record to tarnish Farmer beyond repair.

Don't hold your breath! I will believe it when I see it.

The official statement when it does get released will talk about nothing but the future and how the plans will go forward. I have a feeling nothing will actually be addressed. Farmer probably believes that nothing wrong actually happened. Why should he lose his job because nothing was ever wrong.

I hope, even though I know it won't happen, Savoie kicks his ___ to the curb so hard he lands in Alaska.

I'm with you. If Farmer is not fired for this combined with all of his other failings, then he is coated with Teflon like Clinton. UL will not see another penny from me until we have new athletic leadership.

I almost hope they try to sweep it under the rug.. That would be a huge mistake..
As much as I want Farmer gone, I can honestly tell you I've spoke to many coworkers and friends who are alumni, big UL supporters and RCAF. Only one of about 20 knew anything about the current cluster F regarding the Tigue. Most people get their news from newspapers, local news stations and/or social media.. and none of those have reported anything.

Let's face it, unless you are in the meetings, very close with someone in the meetings, or you are following RP: you most likely are totally oblivious to the sad state of our athletic department and incompetence of our AD.

That is why it is so important for local media to get out of Savoie's hip pocket and demand answers. Until the sheeple you describe are made aware of the magnitude of Farmer's incompetence and Savoie's indifference to athletics (and academic excellence, but that is for another thread) they will continue to think that where we are is the best to which we can aspire.

So the average UL fans are fools for not participating on a message board or having the right contacts to ask questions?

Not what I said at all. I said they lack information because we have no local media who demand answers.

The state of UL athletics is so far down on the priority list of the average Joe in Acadiana right now that I have my doubts that the Tigue project will move forward at all right now. Our state is flat broke and only an idiot wouldn't see that more budget cuts are forthcoming. The average citizen of Lafayette doesn't know the difference between a privately funded project and one that is state funded. Those people see any kind of construction for athletics on a college campus and they immediately assume that it is the state that is footing the bill. The administration knows this, and knows how the politicians in BR will react to complaints from voters mad about cuts to their "benefits".
