Another thing that was said on the radio that I've learned over the weekend is false: The idea that Farmer gave out a percentage of funds (70%) that was "open for interpretation, and that was interpreted among fans".
That's a flat out lie. Farmer gave several different individuals ACTUAL DOLLAR amounts that had been collected (NOT PLEDGED) and those figures are not consistent with the story that Jay gave about the "interpreted" amount and the original $10 mil budget.
---Having lived and hated so much of the athletic history I beg to differ with you---In his Ivy League based Management classes Dr Bievenu use to have a lecture on the difference between "kissing asses and kissing asses for greater purposes"-----I don't know all the reasons for what is or what is not done and I don't post that I do---but having been in situations, I know that there are things that are being done behind the scenes that should not be made known--BR politics come into mind for one reason---I do know that I have disagreed a bunch with this and former administrations and have voiced my thoughts on it----often I have seen why I was wrong and often I have called them out for not advancing our university as they should---all I ask is to know the "whys" courses of action are taken or not taken!
Boomer there's never a day of transparency at Martin Hall. We never know if they were successful because the goal and steps are never discussed.
I do know we're at the bottom of funding in all of the FBS world. I do know the branding changes with the opposition. I do know we gave away our media rights. I do know SF by his own admission was dumbstruck when WKU left, after all we had a pinky promise.
I do know this stadium project us being mishandled. I do know over six years ago we were promised tier one academics standing, but yet to reach the public for help.
------And they should be taken to task with all of this but I want to know WHY---If they aren't looking out for the best interests of our school and if they have made sufficient errors they should be terminated------But let me give some hypotheticals----suppose we are about to play Monroe and an attorney for the UL system and Monroe approach T-Joe with a threat along with state legislators to sue or change the law so even Louisiana could not be used and if it were he would be terminated for disobeying state guidelines??? I have no idea if this is even close to reality but the point is I DON'T KNOW---Suppose we had to change some funding through our legislators to keep the stadium and capital projects going in exchange for whatever---same as for doctoral programs---I DON't KNOW---T-Joe kept the hits to himself on the transfer of money to the athletic dept when he actually was doing a much better plan---I didn't know---did you--so all I am saying is yes hold them to the task but get the entire picture---now go listen to the head of the FBI cop out!!! Well I think he will---BUT I DON'T KNOW!!!! lol
Not hate, Boomer. The truth. The whole story is that T-Joe is a politician, not a University President. He absolutely could not possibly care less whether UL ever achieves USNR Tier 1 or Carnegie Tier 1 VHR status, nor whether our athletic department reaches its full potential; he only cares that he can reward his buddies with cush jobs at UL or elsewhere, whether they have a clue or not, and that he can call himself a University President. He will do absolutely anything to protect HIS status, and absolutely nothing to help UL, unless it also protects or enhances his status.
Why can't I say P!ssin6 in the wind? This ain't America no more....
Would the fine, hate-free and upstanding individual who gave me this neg rep statement: "You really do hate people, don't you?", kindly identify himself?
It is not hatred. It is contempt. There is a difference. I do indeed hold all the spineless worms in Martin Hall and on Rhinehardt Drive in utter contempt.
In any event, most all the folks on this board know who I am; man up and identify yourself.
