Really? Let's be real. Hahaha does Hud believe anyone is buying this?
exams begin today at the flagship, grades are due on Tuesday.
All coach speak right now ... (1) After the debacle at QB last year, we better have a starter named 2 weeks before the Boise game. (2) If Jordan Davis is named the starter and we start the season 0-2 or 1-2, Mark Hudspeth should be fired.
From what I saw last year and in the spring, Jordan Davis is not the QB that we need leading this team.
Football coach speak is worse than in all other sports. Hud does it every year. Heck, every coach does it every year. It's especially bad in the pre-season because you don't want to give your hand away.
Last year raised a lot of speculation because we didn't really have too many guys in the right positions. Or, to put it simply, we didn't have great talent or depth or were too inconsistent at too many positions. Most notably quarterback. I think Hud saw it to our advantage if he's going to keep switching guys around, just don't talk about it to the media so the other team won't really know what to expect. Your result was an increased amount of coach speak all throughout the season. You know, the "everyone is competing every day" kind of thing. The problem last year was that we were playing with a pair of 5s when the majority of our opponents pretty much had 3 of a kind.
I don't think you'll see the same this year. If a guy will help us win, he will play. None of this "let's test him out" stuff. If Jennings is the man, he'll play. If Davis is, then I feel sorry for Jennings and will wish Davis the best. But, I don't think we'll see the same indecisive Hud as we saw last year. At least that's what the optimist in me is saying because I really want to have some hope heading into to this season.
I don't think it's "coach speak". You still want both QBs to be competing for the spot in order for both to remain focused on getting ready. I also, unlike last year, don't think Hud has any reason to attempt to throw opponents off in preparation for the Cajuns. The QBs are not so dissimilar that you'd baffle opponents by playing one versus the other.
So did no one see this, then?

if a graduate transfer comes back to old school do they have to sit out?
Also noticed Jennings will apply to get another year back...so we could possibly have him for 2 years
