He has all the tools, but the experience isn't there and the decision making is there as well.
Well he's not going to get experience by continuing to sit on the bench....

Hud dug his own hole here by being so adamant about playing Nixon. I was begging for Haack/Davis by the end of last season.

Very happy to hear this! Hopefully, there won't be any fallout.

Davis did not look ready this spring. Being overly anxious in a spring game is worrisome. The game looks a little too fast for him. Hopefully, he figures it out. Should have seen more action last year because there's nothing like PT in real games.

He has something Davis does not, experience against some of the top defenses in the country.
Exactly. He would be very good here.

I'll welcome him. The guy has SEC experience.

Like someone above pointed out. Jeff Driskol looked like a very pedestrian QB at Florida, only to help LA Tech be a nightmare last season for other teams in their conference.

You can never have too many talented athletes as long as they stay within the programs limits just like all the other guys and prove their worth on the field. Come on Jennings, we have room for you.

It adds another weapon to the arsenal. That's always a good thing. I'm very surprised folks don't see the huge upside an athlete with this capability and experience can lend to our program at this juncture. He isn't going to get handed the keys. He's going to have to work out with the program and earn a role. I'm pretty fired up about the addition.

Me too, as long as he earns it I don't see the issue. It's a win win situation

Driskol was the #1 PLAYER recruited in America out of high school. He was totally and completely handcuffed by a defensive minded coach. Jennings couldn't beat out Brandon Harris, which to me, is Jordan Jefferson 2.0. I'm not sure how many of us have seen Jennings play, but as someone said above, his passing ability is average at best. I hate to knock the kid, I'm just posting what I've seen. Not to mention, are we asking this kid to walk on campus in August and lineup against Boise St a month later? That's ludicrous.

I see this as a deeper problem as well. We can't recruit QB's. That's a BIG problem.

Good luck to Mr. Jennings and Hudspeth. I hope it works.

One of the nations top 5 rosters carried, along with the fact they played about 5 games that year carried him to 9-4. C'mon man...

Just playing devils advocate but you bring up driskell being handcuffed...uh who was the last QB that flourished under Miles? Can they all be terrible? The kid graduated in 3 years so I would imagine he is pretty sharp. Like you said people said driskell couldn't throw and was over rated... But really he just needed an offense to fit his skill set.
