He has the potential to add a lot to our offense this year. The season definitely became a little more interesting.

Will he be able to learn the playbook and timing with the offense by September?
Can't disagree. It's a tall order to get in here and be system ready for Boise State... even though I don't think he's going to be intimidated by BSU. I hope he doesn't struggle to pick things up in our system. I'd like our staff to be able to choose the starter from pure ability... not because they struggle grasping the system.
...look at it this way. This is a new offense with a new coordinator....at least I hope its a new coordinator.
Davis only has a spring camp (4 weeks) headstart on Jennings in the new offense.
One would imagine both teams will have a really simplified game plan.
It's called competition.
I played three seasons. 3rd team to start my first year on the team, moved to back-up by mid season. Then each of the next two years, a JC QB was brought in challenging me for the back-up job. I never thought about transferring out, but my situation was way different than Jordan.
J1M...IMO, you've been right on track to criticize the play calling, especially last season. I wish I had more confidence in our new play caller, only time will tell. I do believe we had a very good guy with JJ, but don't think he was given as much freedom last season, not only with play calling but with player personnel decisions.
HC have big egos, but Hud is no fool and I believe/hope he will loosen the reigns and let his coaches, coach. Last year gave him a big serving of humble pie!
Geaux Cajuns!
This will be a horrible thing for the program if he is our starting quarterback. Jennings was in the bottom 4-5 quarterbacks in the country in passing percentage while at LSU. His completion percentages were awful, less than 50%. Doesn't matter if it was the NFL, SEC or the ACC. He was among the worst in the country.
If Jordan Davis isn't ready to be our quarterback then we have much deeper issues that Jennings isn't the solution to. A bad move in my opinion.
