I'm stoked about him getting some workout film out there. But my god, I hope he doesn't end up playing for the sixers.http://www.nba.com/sixers/news/seltz...rowns-feedback
"Long Offers an Intriguing Look
Twenty-three year old Shawn Long was both the oldest and biggest prospect invited to Monday's workout. The Louisiana product racked up some pretty heady accomplishments in college. He finished his four-year career with the Ragin' Cajuns ranked first in Sun Belt conference history in total rebounds, and second in points scored and shots blocked.
"I think the biggest thing was, just learning my strength and my weaknesses," Long said. "Once I got a good feel for what that was, the rest followed. Just being accountable for things on the court, I think that's paid off for me a lot the last few years."
During the segment of Monday's session that the media was permitted to watch, Long didn't hold back on heaving a few three-point tries. The 6'9" tall, 245-pound big man shot 34.1 percent from outside the arc as a collegian.
"I don't mind mixing it up down low, as well as stretching it out on the floor," said Long, who played at Louisiana with current Orlando Magic point guard Elfrid Payton.
"He's got really good size," Sixers Vice President of Player Personnel Marc Eversley said of Long. "I'd call him a stretch five or a stretch four. He's got the ability to step out and make a shot. The other thing he does well is he can take you off the dribble. Not sure if you saw it, but he utilized the pump fake pretty well. He's got great size, and he can step out and make a shot."
Monday was Long's first workout with an NBA team."
