Could our next head coach already be here?
Dez? I think in time when learns the in and outs etc, he could. He looks to have a grasp on the recruiting game
I'm not saying it isn't but HUD came from north Alabama...he is learning the ins and outs right here. He turned around a winless program to a game from state. If the time and opportunity would present itself, he is one person if have no problem taking a chance on. Just my opinion. He still knows what it takes to be in charge of an entire program which is very important...something even big time coordinators know nothing about.
------So Very much different and yet so much alike with the 2-----The steps are usually Head coach HS to position coach in college----the Good part is usually a broader understanding of the entire picture and the bad part is not having the specific knowledge of that individual position----the progression of the positional to the coordinator is helped by a guy that has a well rounded background and were leadership is even more important and then the head coaching gig is a nightmare of responsibilities and the needed personality to be the commander-----Troy W can save you from so many deals since organization is the key!!!!
Art briles, Gus malzahn, hugh freeze to name a couple example...2 of which got their fist college head coaching jobs in this conference. It worked because they are good coaches... The ones that don't work out is because those guys aren't as good of coaches. Some people just have "IT"... Mike has had the "IT" In everything he has ever done...I wouldn't bet against that guy. And he is from here, played here and is currently coaching here. I don't see his leaving anytime soon anyway.
I'm looking for improvement in the receiving corps under Mike.
It is....but more similarities than differences....a little more sophisticated scheme and game plan wise. I did find though that on either level once you put the headphones on I didn't see much difference. Just trying to win a game....I loved both and miss the heck out of those sidelines.
