Concrete Masonry Unit.
I'll repeat what I just posted on another thread.
Dr Jessica Leger stated on BEV in the last hour that the goal was to have the Tigue available for fans for the Southern Miss series the first weekend in March. To the best of my knowledge, she's the actual first university employee to state anything like this.
Kudo's to her that we finally have someone with stones.
It's pretty impressive how many different things they have going on at the job. There's like 5 or 6 manlifts and a crane all going not to mention a concrete truck and plumbing/electrical.
It is my impression that they are trying to get it ready, the grand stand section, for the first home game. With them starting to install cinder walls and still putting up steel at the same time might be the reasoning for getting it ready. Like building a home and installing the wooden floors while putting the roof on.
Looks like they are installation the metal arches that will be along the front facade. I guess that will support the window structures below and the bricks above them.
Well here is the delayed rains. Flooding and mud. If we start having rains every other day our hope for a early March start will be long gone.
Brick masons and steel crew working today.
They can't be working it rain this weekend and the sky fell.
Steel and CMU going up this morning.
