Looking at the timeline in a little detail this afternoon it looks like we are about six weeks behind the original schedule. The work being done now was originally scheduled for the second week in September. In the original timeline the facility was scheduled to be turned over on the 14th of February. So do the math and that would mean if the original timeline is still the target we are looking at getting into the facility the first week of April.
Now I don't know if we are still on that timeline or not and I do think there are things that could be done without costing additional money that could get us in a little quicker but we are probably talking a couple of weeks at best. The season kicks off on February 17th this year and based on last years schedule we would be looking for an alternative location for 13 games to get us until the 1st of April or 7 games if we were in mid March.
Schedule has 10 days weather contingency. We need this dry weather to hold out. Especially up to the point that the project is fully out of the ground. IF weather holds and they squeeze the timeline slightly this thing might not be too bad but there is a lot of room for things to go wrong.
I was going to do that tonight. I wanted to get to a hard point on the time line and Steel erection was that point. In my previous post in this thread (no 218 on page 11) I had April 3. So it looks like a tight, but doable schedule. I would suspect that if and when they announce a date for occupancy they may add maybe a week to ten days. That way they can say they beat the schedule. Again, I say this with the caveat that we don't know if they re using the same time schedule that was published on the baord back in June. We shall see.
Eric. Crozier will be on at 7:30.
My bad will be on at 8:00. You can see the first. Bit of steel in the job cam.
Right now would be a good time to put in new dugouts.
From Eric's interview. The rest of concrete (SOG) should be completed in next couple of weeks. Lemoine working to reduce schedule as much as possible. Some sub contractors out of Baton Rouge were effected by the floods and estimate that set us back 5-6 days. Since that time weather has been great. As of now hope to have majority of steel erection done by around Christmas time. First or second week of February the main stadium (bowl area) should be completed. Upper decks behind existing bleachers will be approximately 30 feet deep.
They are working on options to occupy prior to completion (as I expected) and talking to code officials and fire marshal to see what could be done to make that happen. That is good to hear because they are obviously trying to plan ahead on a way to get the team and fans in prior to completing everything. I can envision getting occupancy if the main stadium seating area is finished with all life safety issues addressed (handrails, stairwells, exits) but having only partial bathrooms, concessions, pressbox, and suites completed.
No completion date given other than sometime during the 2017 baseball season. Probably won't be able to predict a really solid date until after the first of the year.
Really wish they would move the camera so I could see what the hell is going on haha
Didn't Whitney buy naming rights of the dugouts for a pretty penny?
