I've heard both sides on that. Some said would be later in the year once suites were done, but I dont see why that would need to be since the suites are now sold out. I'd imagine there will be a trial period over the first month or so where you can get an idea of where you'd like to be if you were to move then they will go through the permanent seating process.
Grandstand not sold out. I know somebody (general public) that called and was told there is availability in the grandstand.

I don't see what all the fuss is about regarding 1420 getting Cajun sports and people trying to get 103.7 to take over. As far as I'm concerned Dave Shultz is so effin annoying as he cannot conduct an interview without SPEAKING OVER THE GUEST NONSTOP. So count me as a 1420 fan if you're taking note. I don't give 2 shats if Jay Walker stood by Farmer or not because at the end of the day, he is a much better show host than Dave "likes to hear himself talk" Shultz will ever be. I found myself saying out loud "shutup and let the man answer the question" multiple times when Dave was interviewing Eric Crozier right here.
I'll never be a 103.7 fan.
1420 can use some work, sure, but I don't tune into the radio shows to hear the host call out people, I tune in for knowledge of the program. And Jay Walker has Years and Years more knowledge of UL athletics than this joke Shultz. I hope to God 103.7 does not get the new UL contract.
FYI, just drove by the field again... new stadium lights (same as the light poles) are being installed on the edge of the grandstand canopy. I forgot they were planning on adding more lights right there. This will make a big difference for on-field lighting for sure.
The best case scenario would be to contract with a network like WESTWOOD ONE, where you pick up almost every market in Louisiana and also have UL Football games on satellite as well. In that case we would have announcers from outside the local radio market. With Rick Jones from FishBait Marketing involved, we will maximize our media contracts this time around.
103.7 has broadcast rights in the area for LSU. I don't think they will give that up to broadcast cajuns games. Way too much money to be made with LSU versus Cajuns.
