This is a bit off thread, so it needs to be put in a separate thread
Being critical of KPEL's show selection and daily talent is different than being critical of their game broadcasts which is what affects the broadcast contract. 103.7 is ahead in terms of putting daily show archives and making their shows accessible to people who can't listen live which I think is a must in this day, but that really doesn't affect the sports contract/live games I think. I don't think schools even put radio archives of games up to be honest.
Obviously they will be reviewing all of these factors like sound quality, availability, events covered, talent, etc. I think they KPEL could improve by having all games on FM, though that only affects midweek baseball games and all the softball games. Either way, the whole deal has to be reviewed and straightened out. No more non-contract deals
To CajunT's point, I think he is thinking more of something like IMG College Sports not Westwood One. Westwood is more of a national network not tied to individual universities. They do the biggest games/conferences each week/NCAA championships etc. IMG is more of the type of multimedia rights management group you're talking about. They used to have a contract with South Alabama for example and managed all of their multimedia rights, etc, though South Al just broke from them and formed Jaguar Sports Properties to manage it instead. I'd be interested to see what Jag fans that know more about the situation have to say about that.
