It would be nice if they would reposition the cameras as they don't show as much anymore.
Why can't they finish/complete the dam thing then have the games? I would love to have it finished for March 3 but how much does it delay the overall construction having to stop and make it "ready" for people to attend the games? Just my thoughts.
Just an update after asking about this at the social last night. The second floor will not have any office space but will be for facility mechanical's. They had originally intended to make this office space, but since the height of the seats in the bowl would be higher than the second level it meant these offices wouldn't have window access. They will probably be looking at new office space being part of the planning for the new clubhouse project.
Because either we'd end up going from one city one weekend to play then a different one next weekend (BR, Lake Charles, Hammond) or playing in a rec park on a different (and likely not up to a college program level) surface that can't fit half the fans in the stands. It's just a logistical nightmare for not only our team but our opponent's having to book accommodations weeks/months in advance.
Also, what would be the point of not doing it this way? I honestly am curious as to the point you are making. Is it that we will be delaying the full completion by rushing certain things (not sure how much delay we are adding) or that fans will be going to a halfway complete stadium? Either way, playing in it early far outweighs waiting for it to be complete. Coach Robe stressed this emphatically last night
It isn't going to delay completion much if any at all. Priorities have shifted to make it usable for March 3rd but it all still has to get done. The games aren't going to have much impact on the timeline since they are all played at times outside of when construction crews would be trying to work.
They did allocate additional resources to get it done sooner. It was either put resources toward playing at other fields around the state or try and expedite the timeline on the stadium. Playing elsewhere would have cost money and resulted in less revenue. So it made sense to put more money towards Russo Park.
Drove by earlier today. 95% of the runners are installed and a few risers were installed.
I remember early on in before construction, coach mentioned the ability to allow air to pass in the areas with the mechanical and underneath the stadium where there may be a bit of a breeze from home plate out, like there would be louvers or something. Although I may have misunderstood that design and with the large entrances, those will act a bit like a breezeway. So I don't know if that got carried over in the final plans and it's hard to tell if they will truly have windows in those areas or not (shown as various baseball photo banners on the rendering). I wonder what it will end up being.
