I do not think Mr Moore would have a problem removing a few pine trees for progress. I never asked him personally but he want baseball to grow in Lafayette and this is exactly what is happening.

This. I was in town last week and I drove down South College from Johnston St. The first view I got of the grandstand was in making that turn. Wow! The size of it is striking and surprising. Cajun90 is absolutely correct, pics just don't do it justice. Can't wait to see it in action.
If you haven't seen it in person, it's worth a look.
I don't know why everyone's pining to take the trees down, seems pretty shady.
It can be a bumpy situation when you get down to the root of it all.
