I don't know if anyone else noticed, but there were two homers in particular behind home plate trying to distract the pitcher...making stupid signals, throwing with a limp wrist, etc. But he kept his cool, K'd one with some really great pitching, than got the next guy to fly out. Fantastic thing to see......setting themselves up for the walk off win. Very nice indeed.
I had turned off the volume last night cause I couldn't deal with the possum fans.....so it was extra sweet to go back today and watch it again with the volume on this time. So many drooping possum hats and fans, lol.
Those two homers were driving me crazy! I was hoping to notice their reaction to the walk off but I was too excited in the moment and never rewound the game.

If instant replay was an option in baseball I don't think the call would have been overturned. Not saying the right call was made.
    Geaux CCU.
Instant replay was used in the Supers this year but only for fair/foul, homerun/ground rule double, outfield catch/ no catch, and fan interference.

YES! I viewed and reviewed it to try to see them at the end.....but if they filmed them they didn't show them. Seems like it would only be fair since we were subjected to them during the game....we needed closure!!! Lol

The ump should never ever call the runner safe if he has not touched the base or plate. The ump should simply stand there.
So why on a dropped third strike if the catcher attempts to tag the runner and misses does the home plate umpire signal safe?

The strange thing is, for all the media now why is it so hard to see a better shot of these controversial plays...... Why do i think if it was a home team game winning homer we would have clear views of everything....... Oh well "praise tebow" ncaa dodged a huge bullet, omaha is not cancelled!

With an attitude like this, too bad it didnt cost him. Im sure most will disagree but i think this is worse than what miami "kid" did, this is supposed to be a paid professional while the other is a kid and a student first.

Again, I thought you Cajuns were experts in baseball.

If an umpire signals before the play is complete then he did his job incorrectly.

    From the MLB rules book:
    http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/downloads/y20...ball_rules.pdf

Under "GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO UMPIRES" on Page 97

"Do not come running with your arm up or down, denoting “out” or
“safe.” Wait until the play is completed before making any arm motion."

So what's the rule up in Ruston when the ump is attacked by Racoons who have taken over the grandstand and marked it as their kingdom?
