Well there is a reason why a 30% success rate is considered good. Let's not pretend it isn't hard either, because it is..very hard.

That being said there has been a different approach to hitting since Deggs has left and it is evident. Call it swagger, urgency or whatever it is...and any pitcher that can through junk has our number, I don't know how to fix this, but it needs to be fixed. We have to good of a pitching staff for this.

Not taking anything away from Bannister, but he got a good bit of help from the boys in blue.

It wasn't a good at bat for him and it turned out to be probably the most critical at bat of the last two games. The sophomore has room for improvement. He should be one of the bigger bats next year.

I won't argue that AT ALL.

Deggs also had professional baseball players 1-9

Kennon will be a special player for us....."will be".

He had some sparks which showed us that's he's learning.

He will need tons of defensive practice in the off season if he wants to be an everyday player. If not, you'll see Poncho platoon at DH with him next year.

I do see him getting better and becoming a tougher out. Like I said, he reminds me of a grinder from a few years back. He's got the build, the athleticism, and the toughness.

    2017 is too far away

FYI....Sensley is a complete liability in the outfield. We looked like a little league at times on the corners. Painful to watch balls fly balls heading down the lines.

    Bingo.

And even with Deggs, we struggled at times with junk-throwing pitchers. Remember 1-0 loss to Jackson State?

We also had many more newcomers this season so I'll give them that. Just hope to see some major improvements next season on offense and some more confidence.

Kennon is a very good second basemen. I would be in favor of moving him back to that spot, predicated on other movements on the roster. He's one of the best athletes on the team.

Steve Sensley was not a liabilty in RF this year. He has the best arm in the outfield for sure. He picked a bad weekend to have a tough go of it. If you remember, Robe wanted to DH him early on because his defense wasn't there yet. I think he got much better defensively, but in big moments, guys press, and those bad habits show up again.

We have a lot to look forward to.
