A current exhibit at Dupré Library at the University of Louisiana, focuses on Cajun and Creole music and musicians.

Books, newspaper clippings, photographs, phonograph records, music cassettes and CDs, and videos fill the display cases in the grand stairwell and in the Louisiana Room. The items on display reflect the
Library's current holdings.

The exhibit includes several of the first commercial recordings by Cajun and Creole musicians, such as "Allons à Lafayette" by Joe Falcon and Cleoma Breaux and "Two Step de Eunice" by Amédée Ardoin and Dennis McGee.

The Cajun and Creole music exhibit celebrates the beginning of a unique collection. The library was recently awarded a $90,487 Louisiana Board of Regents Traditional Enhancement Grant entitled "To Preserve Cultures and Nurture Generations: Building a Collection of Cajun and Creole Music at the University Library." The two-year grant provides funds to acquire commercial recordings of Cajun, Creole, zydeco and swamp pop music.
