This guy's kid. I heard he has the genes to be a top notch QB. Offer him now before McNeese or LolyPoly does. Can't fall behind those guys.
To even compare the situations is laughable.

To offer a 14 year old child a college football scholarship is laughable.

Kinda like putting a 15 year old on the cover of sports illustrated and have a $100 million Nike contract waiting for him when he turned 18?

You may not agree with it, you may think it's absurd...but it's not " laughable." No one is laughing at us, as many state here, many of the big programs do it and it's mostly just hype.

It's also the reason that today's youth: A) don't know the game; B) are entitled; C) are soft; D) can explode a locker room; E) have no sense of 'team'; F) have no idea how to compete.

Not to mention everywhere that kid goes, this story will follow them. Bye-Bye to an organic, earned ascension up the player rankings.

    It's damn ridiculous.

Anyway, don't we have a regional this weekend?

Nobody? You don't think anybody else thinks it's laughable that colleges are offering 14 year olds? I would be willing to take that bet if there were some way to prove it.

No one has answered. What do you think Tony Robicheaux thinks of this practice? Honest question, as I see him as somewhat of an ideal example of a coach doing the job the right way for the right reasons. I can't speak for him, but I have my guesses. Maybe I'm wrong.

You're not wrong.. Just ask him, he'd be GLAD to tell you how he feels about this kinda garbage..

    Now, about that regional...

It is ridiculous but this hasn't just started. Want to stop this stuff? 2 things, stop paying coaches millions of dollars and stop firing them every 4 years for a losing season. They will do anything to make sure they keep their cash-cow...including offering a 14 year old which is actually on the low end of crazy for what these coaches will do to not be fired from a multi million dollar gig.

I never said I agree with it. And I agree this is part of the reason that the kids are entitled.

I know. And I don't disagree with anyone here that we are just following the trend. Obviously I have not way of proving this but I imagine:

    1. Not following this trend would cost us 0 wins
    2. Even if 1 is wrong, so what. I'd rather be on the right side of things, even if it costs me something.

My comments is in regards to the college football world..no one is looking at our program at laughing because of this. What they laugh at is 4-8 seasons. Not this.

Coaches have no job security because of crazy boosters who provide the money to pay them millions. It's the monster we all created.... We shouldn't be surprised coaches do ridiculous stuff to try to win. That's why so many cheat, it's worth it.
