Sooners were better tonight. Ragin Cajuns will be ready to compete tomorrow.
My thing with our softball team is inconsistency on defense and not playing to our ability in big games. We are always top hitting team, nation leader in homeruns, best offense, etc etc...but why do we seem to struggle against top tier teams when something big is on the line? We don't keep games close, we give up too many runners, runs and games get away. It may not have been the difference in the game tonight, but we drop a ball at 1st, we relay to the wrong base on a double with runner on 1st, we let an infield fly drop, we don't turn a double play cause no one was covering 2nd, we don't get an out on soft grounder to 3rd...those little things add up, they give teams momentum...and then the big hits and homeruns blow it open.
Corrected. Old habits
Playing good teams on the road is tough. Ask Oregon, TAMU, and Texas. Hell, ask OU who lost 2 of 3 in Lamson park with a team that went to the College World Series (and subsequently knocked the Cajuns out) in 2014. Why else would it be so coveted to be a national seed? It's a HUGE advantage.
The visiting team has to be talented, play near perfect ball, and have a little good fortune to win. Here's to hoping the Cajuns do that tomorrow.
You don't call last weekend "big games"? The only games you are talking about are super regional with Cajuns on the road against a top 5 team. Of course the odds are against them. How many top 8 seeds will NOT advance this weekend? How soon you forget the 2014 team that won the super in Lafayette to advance to WCWS.
You are obviously a bandwagon fan who doesn't watch the game enough to appreciate what this team has accomplished. Stick to flaming baseball game threads when they are on the losing end of a game. These girls deserve better than a troll of your low caliber.
