Gremillion continues to produce in the big games. She was our best hitter in the Florida series and was out best hitter last night. I would look at moving her up in the lineup to take advantage of her bat. Also, hopefully the Cajuns do a better job of defending the small ball than they did yesterday.
I give more credit to OU than anything else. They played small ball to perfection early in the game. When Gremillion moved up to defend the bunt the girl bounced it right over her head. I am hoping Stewart didn't have her best stuff last night and has a better outing today.
Ha ha. I knew a post like this was coming. Pumping up victories over mediocre teams who just happen to play in big name conferences. I will give you Oregon who won the PAC 12 and is legit. Texas A & M finished 10th in the SEC with a sub .500 record. Big time team? Really? The reality is that the Big 12 conference was really, really weak this year with OU being the class. Is splitting a series with a mediocre Baylor and beating an extremely mediocre Texas team something to really hype up a program about?
The only thing that I am slinging is reality. The Cajuns are a decent team, nothing more. When they face pitching that stymies their homerun swings, out come the clueless posters writing about umpires and conspiracies. Same thing applies when Alex gets called for illegal pitches. Cue the posts about the fix is in and the umpires are the tools being used to screw the Cajuns. There are a few sane posters who give credit to the opposing team but the majority just post about umpire conspiracies and how things would be different if we were playing at home, etc.
If one looks back in history in an objective manner, the fact is that the Cajuns have a history of failing in the really big games. Auburn last year, Oklahoma and Kentucky the year before. Michigan and Arizona State before that. I don't know why they can't get over the hump but they just can't seem to do it. Our hitters just can't see to produce in the big games with a few bright spots like Elkins and Gremillion this year. I just try to temper the out of touch posts being made with a dose of reality. Kudos needs to be given to Lotief for always fielding a competitive team. For whatever reason, he just can't seem to ever field a team that has the combination of superior pitching and superior hitting. One component always seems to disappear for the Cajuns in the big game.
Quit feeding the troll guys. Cut them off and they won't be back.
Now today is a new day. And I hate the way supers are set up. Play back to back games 2-3 if necessary. Never was a fan. But it's set up well for us. Win the first game and we have the momentum.
