Zeringue Represents Cajuns on Academic All-America Team

Ragin' Cajuns Softball junior Kassidy Zeringue was named to the 2016 Academic All-America®_Division I softball team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced on Thursday.

Spelled differently. Zeringue as opposed to Zerangue. The lore goes like this.. Told to me by my deceased Pop. Son sometime in the late 1800's we had a big group of Z's around Marksville. Someone on our side did something pretty awful (what, we do not know)..anyway, we got the boot and were told to change the spelling of our name as our asses hit the door.

I'm absolutely SHOCKED it was someone one your side of the family who did something so bad, it was worthy of expulsion from a community.
