OT: The Baylor Debacle..

We can apply the Robe model to football and compete with anybody in the country. In fact, this is our best shot. Improve facilities to the extent we can, yes, but don't get into an arms race. Make football about the men again. There will come a day when moms and athletes finally realize that they are taking the 30 pieces of silver. When they decide they want to be men instead of delinquents, UL will not be hard to find. Corporate america will figure this out too. Stop chasing wins and start chasing integrity. The wins and endorsements will follow.

Baylor made a lot of money and got a new stadium. Just the cost of doing business. Cut the cord and keep the booty.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. When you see things like this, and of this magnitude, it makes you go back to basics and realize athletics isn't that important. I just can't imagine that a group of school officials are making decisions that are saying women getting raped is less important than allowing a football player to stay on the team? What has our society become where someone is physically forced to do something against their will and it's ok.

These institutions have sold their soul to the devil, they're proving that money is more important than educating and changing peoples lives for the better. That's what they're supposed to be doing....not worshipping some kid who is good at running thru grass and crossing a spray painted line that a groundskeeper put down.

After watching the video of Tony Robichaux that was posted a few days ago speaking to other coaches it has really changed my view of athletics. It's like a light bulb really went off and the truth, that I always knew was there, suddenly came to the forefront at lightning speed and shined extremely bright. These coaches are really in a position to teach boys how to become men and it is evident that most are not doing that. I really hope our administration see's these problems elsewhere and evaluates our entire staff to make sure we are not allowing any of this crap to happen on our campus. I'll take a .500 season every year instead of big time winning success with a team strife with criminals.

He would go a long way in helping those young men later in their lives if he would teach them not to make excuses...and punctuality.

so ken starr gets moved down to chancellor and professor at the law school? seems like a whole lot of "lack of institutional control" here. anybody remember that one? but, the head of the institution remains. what about the role of the police here? wow, the lawsuits! way to go, baylor.

but I bet most alums will be OK with what happened. At the end of the day Briles got them a new stadium and a much higher profile.
The sad thing is that most 2nd tier football programs would trade places with Baylor in a heartbeat. Even after this scandal.

Do you now Start to wonder if some of these "schools" Have moved up too Quickly , i.e. The louisville's, uconn's and possibly memphis' and Boise ( who also has a scandal brewing) did so without a solid foundation.... And by these conferences looking at just a few years of money and football Wins also leaving open similar posibilities when they decide who to take next.. Also the académic side of all this is still yet to be analyzed

Likely not. Penn State players were allowed to transfer after the NCAA handed down penalties to the program. That has not happened here.
