For clarity, Louisiana-Lafayette seems the logical choice. UL-Lafayette is ridiculous.

I have one question.
Why hasn't Martin Hall fixed this fiasco with the preferred 3 letter designation from the SBC?
No marketing effort on planet earth, including their beloved "One and only Ragin Cajuns" can overcome the absolute disaster that is ul-l.
If I'm designing a marketing campaign from scratch as to what we want to brand our athletic teams, Step 1 in that process is fixing this colossal, gargantuan, monumental mistake.
---Now does anybody think that T-Joe changing the Louisiana to something else is because he wants to or that he has been instructed by the Louisiana or Board of Regents??? I would imagine he gets about $350K a year for his dream job----Now what was said about an employer's instructions???
UL or ULA would never be an option with our administration, so LA would be at the top of the list.
If that is too risque for the weak kneed, LRC (Louisiana Ragin Cajuns), LC (Louisiana Cajuns), LAC (Louisiana Cajuns) or LNA (LouisiaNA) would all be light years better than what is used now.
Going forward, in all aspects of branding ourselves "Louisiana", the slogan should be Forget U.
T-shirt design......
Front: WE ARE LOUISIANA
Back: Forget U
I don't listen to people that don't call us UL and Louisiana.
It's not the conference's business what we call ourselves.
It's not ULM's business what we call ourselves.
It's not our business what ULM calls themselves.
My guess is he was told this under Wright Waters, Dan implemented it and never gave it a second thought.
Whether or not he ever heard Karl Benson's edict; "it is our intention that each university will be referred to as they wish." I do not know.
He sure hasn't budged from the Wright Waters era in the two and a half years since that statement.
