Not correct Turbine, the SBC implicitly demands that Dan McDonald abide by their rules when calling games on their network. It's their broadcast and they own the rights, they do not have to follow these guidelines for their own productions and content.

I didn't watch all of the games online yesterday, but I watched little bits and pieces. I can't recall him calling anyone by their mascot. All I heard was Troy, South Alabama, UL Lafayette, UT Arlington, etc.

He's probably doing what he is instructed to do.

Call the games, and use these terms to name the schools. It's prob not just us, but the SBC is trying, and REALLY HARD at that, to not rustle ANY feathers!!!

But no one can ever explain why he won't use Ragin' Cajuns (which is completely legal and allowed 100% of the time) or Louisiana during home broadcasts, on KPEL or The Rage. Hilarious that a conference can dictate what a singular institution calls itself. That'd be like an employer strictly forbidding me to go by my short-hand name (Joe, Josh, Will) when representing them and using my full given name (Joseph, Joshua, William).

I watched the game last night and several times he referred to Arkansas State as the Red Wolves!
