SB Nation has us going west as the #1 seed. That would suck, although we could win it, IMO.

    Long Beach Regional

    1. Louisiana-Lafayette*
    4. Fresno State*

I may have missed one so let me know if you come up with someone different. Yes, I think Gonzaga has a high enough RPI ranking, but not sure about the rest of their resume. They earned a co-championship in the WCC (#11 RPI conference) but ended up as the 3 seed out of 4 teams in the tournament. 2-5 vs RPI top 50. I think they are on the bubble. D1 has two WCC teams as in the tournament (Gonzaga and Pepperdine). They must think Pepperdine is going to win the tournament.

Moot point now as LBSU did not submit a bid to host so we won't be going there.

You're correct, I forgot about that. Just don't want to see UL going west. Hope that it's FAU.

Your list looks fairly accurate. It's just much easier tabulating that way than looking at the report and trying to pick out the teams. That's the reason I kept getting a different count every time I was trying to count them.

And why again wouldn't UCSB be an option to host? Sorry if I missed it.

Can't win the Big West regular season title.

Is that their biggest negative? Strong RPI and SOS. Some nice wins. Geographically, they would be ideal.

They also don't have a host worthy facility and had to host half a world away in Lake Elsinore last year. And apparently they didn't submit a bid.

Yes and it is a big negative unless you are a SEC/ACC/Big12/Pac12 school. Big enough that Brian did not even mention them in his #1 seed and host school analysis post

So let me get this straight. You think UCSB would be a good host option but not UL?

And you think this because UCSB has a good RPI and SOS? Are you just ignoring UL's RPI and SOS on purpose or what?

You continue to point out our losing record vs. top 25. Well, UCSB is 0-0 vs. Top 25. Their record vs. Top 50 is 8-3. Cajuns are 11-9. UCSB is also a terrible 2-3 vs. RPI 200+. Cajuns are 5-1.

Please do explain why you think UCSB is ideal. And UL is not.
