And you think this because UCSB has a good RPI and SOS? Are you just ignoring UL's RPI and SOS on purpose or what?

You continue to point out our losing record vs. top 25. Well, UCSB is 0-0 vs. Top 25. Their record vs. Top 50 is 8-3. Cajuns are 11-9. UCSB is also a terrible 2-3 vs. RPI 200+. Cajuns are 5-1.

Please do explain why you think UCSB is ideal. And UL is not.
    *Ideal, geographically speaking.

There is no one to host a west coast regional.

    The numbers speak for themselves.

If UCSB would be in the south, they would not be considered. Because they are out west, they would have (had they put in a bid) been candidates, maybe. I don't think their resume' is better than ours. Obviously, it is not. But because of the scenario above, they were asked about.

I think Arizona State gets a West host.

If they don't wet the bed this weekend against USC, you could certainly be right.. long shot, but maybe..

If it's a long shot, then who do you have hosting out west? Only 4 teams out west have RPIs in the top 40 currently; Arizona, Arizona St., Gonzaga, and UCSB. UCSB didn't bid. Gonzaga is distant from any other school that may make the tourney outside of Washington and who knows if they bid. It would come down to Arizona or Arizona St; and Arizona is 2 hours further from the coastal teams like the potential WCC champ or UCSB, CSF, or LBS.

I don't think Gonzaga is a realistic option. I was actually thinking Washington, but you're right, they don't have a better case than Arizona St.

FYI the AAC tournament is on CBS Sports (1295 on Cox in Lafayette) for anyone wanting to watch UCF/Tulane tonight

SEC Tourney live on ESPN-SEC. LSU v. TN 0-4, top 6. TN leading and LSU looking dazed and confused.

I don't think Gonzaga is either. They're somewhat remote, location-wise. Not to mention they don't have a very large park. It's newer, but unsure if it's up to hosting standards. And who knows if they submitted a bid.

I just think Arizona State is looking that the shiniest turd out west.
