Outside of Brian Benton on this board, no one knows more or has more connections in college baseball then Kendall Rogers at D1Baseball.

I did, just letting people know and tied it to your post.

    Good post, and logical reasoning.

Don't forget to tell your friends about me..
The difference in his posts and yours are that he comes across intelligent with well thought out reasonings behind everything. Your posts are over the top proclamations and you constantly make snide remarks that tries to put others down and beneath you, as if to imply that you are the know-it-all.

Cajun90 has my respect from years of good posts. You on the other hand, do not.

Clarification as this comes off as though he missed on both them of being regional host sites:

He missed on CofC as they ended up not hosting despite a #16 RPI ranking at the time of the selections. It didn't help that they came out of the #14 RPI conference.

He missed on Fullerton as they ended up hosting despite a #25 RPI ranking at the time of the selections. It helped that they won the #9 RPI rated conference and are from the west coast where a regional is generally needed.

SBC is ranked 9th which isn't bad but not enough to help in this instance.
I tend to agree with this statement. However, I think what helps is that so many hosts are coming from only 2 conferences. They will be looking for another conference to host and even though we are the #9 conference, I believe if we win SBC tourney, it will look good that the Cajuns are the reg season champs AS WELL AS tourney champs and we'd be holding a #16 RPI or close to that. I think we'd look attractive to the committee on the surface. It really boils down to what Tulane does. If Tulane also wins their conference tourny, that's when it gets dicey from my view.

FYI, see my post in the other thread. The Big West has another weekend of regular season of baseball to play. UCSB could still conceivably finish 2nd there. But Cajun90 said they didn't submit a bid. And apparently Long Beach State didn't either, per your post. So I guess you hope for LBS to win the Big West. So then, what, Arizona to host as a #2?

I heard this morning on Sirius that this is a possibility. (CBS show I think)

I mean, IF the committee had to pick someone, I guess it would be Arizona simply because the RPI difference between them and UW is too great to justify giving it to UW for a higher Pac 12 finish. Arizona St could be an option as well.

Putting the regional in Arizona or Washington would still probably require 3 teams to fly to, so why not make 3 western schools fly to Lafayette for a regional?

So how many western teams we talking about here that may need to be placed? I was just discussing this with friends earlier. They seem so spread out that you may still have 2 or 3 flying to the host site out west, the committee should just say "screw you guys and all of ya'lls crappy RPIs" and fly all of them east.

I had started figuring out the western schools but then just gave up....or got hungry and went to lunch.

Here is what I figured out:
WCC champ (1 bid league; slight probability of it being a 2 bid league)
    MWC champ (1 bid league)
    WAC champ (1 bid league)
    Fullerton
    LBSU
    UCSB
Utah or Washington (winner of the series gets auto bid; the other is left out)
    Arizona State
    Arizona

Thanks for listing. I was looking at Nitty Gritty and kept getting a different count. So I assume if the WCC champ is anyone but Gonzaga, they may get two? Gonzaga's RPI is high enough for an at-large.
