  1. UL Baseball All about the RPI

They're facing their biggest weekend series of the season, a three-game set at South Alabama that could determine the Sun Belt Conference champion and maybe even an NCAA regional host opportunity.

So why schedule a replacement midweek game, on a four-hour...

Cajuns move up to #20 on an off day.
Houston beat the hell out of Rice last night. We better bring the bats tonight.

They moved from #21 to #20 in the RPI rankings ... but their actual RPI fell. They moved up in the rankings because UCSB lost.

Of note ... there is a larger RPI gap between the Cajuns at #20 and #19 (Georgia Tech) ... than between the Cajuns at #20 and #29 (UNC- Wilmington).

With UCSB losing, this puts Arizona at #25 as the highest rated western team. In your opinion, what do you think the committee will do regarding host sites for the west coast?

I think they will do their best to find two schools ... there is still baseball remaining. It is possible that CSF could get into the requisite range. The Pac 12 champion will have an upper leg here (should it be Arizona or Washington).
