deggs instilled toughness in them. He actually didn't do much with there swing other than get them to swing hard and with a purpose. But...he had something to work with. He had some tough kids...Compton Lenords Wilson Jace Strentz. In fairness to Talbot, he don't have that to work with. The proof to me is this...when is the last time u saw a kid run to first like they did when Deggs was here? Those kids gave 120% effort running to first base

great post. all that was spot on. Maybe Talbot is trying to hard. Look at Sensely. Look at guys who hit well in years past. The evidence is in our face

From what I learned Deggs was all about attitude and making his hitters believe they are the baddest man on the diamond. He was not a technician. Talbot is technical with the swing and doesn't bring the same attitude as Deggs.

There's a lot to be considered if your post is accurate. I think Sensley and Tros are good examples of something mental going on with the hitting. If I were Talbot, there would be absolutely zero additional batting instruction going on from here on out. It would be purely turning my batters into silver back gorillas at the plate. There would still be hit and run, bunt signals, etc. But everything else would be about how this pitcher has a shaved coo cot between his legs... and "be careful your nutsack doesn't hit the umpire in the face when you swing" talk. Let the knowledge of how to bat be instinctual. It's time to go Planet of the Apes at the plate.

Ok dude. When we play App St and our RPI falls to 20, I don't want to hear you complain. BB even said, we'd have to WIN OUT to have a chance at a top 10 RPI. We have only swept Ga St in conference, and we will probably not sweep any others for the rest of the year. Our record against top 50 RPI teams is not good enough, should it come down to a bubble situation. Not to mention, Tech is coming in here today with something to prove and our guys are in the danger zone mentally.

And oh, btw, we don't hit with RISP.

If you've spent time working with little leaguers, you know, this could definitely be the issue. Too much to process at once destroys confidence. Kinda like fixing a golf swing hitch. You can't think your way through an at bat. You have to feel it.

    Great point.

What is there to lose? We can't hit any worse. The biggest mystery is Sensley. He was a beast at the plate, so I hear.

No way man...he just needs to lose the use of his opposable thumb, hang out in trees, and pick lice off Trosclair's head. #justmonkeythings
