If we had any sort of offense, we would be no doubt top 10. Pitching has been plenty good enough this year.
When Jay brought up the RISP numbers and leaving men on base, he completely down played it and blamed the 2 missed pitches. That tells me he either knows what he has with this team offensively and has low expectations, or, really believes his pitchers should give up 1 or less run every time out.
Well it don't matter if he believes it or not...it's what basically has to happen for us to win. Sad but true. The system here is pitching and defense. I can't for the life of me u derstand how we can consistently be that bad offensively. and it all boils down to mentality at the plate. We get into a pillow fight every night at the plate
RPI is still 12, why wouldn't we have a chance to host?
Robe in his weekly presser said "this team was batting well before this weekend". Yeah they really bounced back tonight. They're not good and surprisingly boring to watch...
The one reason we have digressed offensively..... His name is Coach Talbot. He was brought in because of his "similarities to Deggs". Sorry, but from what I've seen the last 2 seasons, he's the exact opposite of Deggs. My guess is that he's better in a supporting role to Deggs like he was at Texas A&M. We have completely lost our identity at the plate since he got here.
I don't know what Deggs did to our offense but I wish Robe and Bab had taken more notes
I distinctly remember Robe talking about 0-2 pitches during the Diamond Club meeting earlier this year when he discussed teaching pitchers and having the entire room laughing when he said "so if an opponent puts an 0-2 pitch in the trees, y'all better not say: that damn Robicheaux doesn't know what the hell he's doing!! I promise you, that pitch should NOT have come near the plate under any circumstance!"
Don't think pitchers will be getting any slack from him when that happens! Haha
